Summer Camps & Classes
In Summer 2021, we held an exciting range of camps including in-person LEGO STEM Camps at the Old Ottawa South Firehall (OSCA), the Soloway Jewish Community Centre and Dovercourt. We also ran our virtual LEGO STEM Adventures Camps through the City of Ottawa.
For your reference we list these camp descriptions below, followed by our original City camp descriptions.
In Person Summer Camps 2021
OSCA AT OLD OTTAWA SOUTH FIREHALL
LEGO® Junior Robotics & Coding Ages 6-7
Build smart Power Functions machines and Orange STEM’s unique robots. Perform challenges using tablet-based coding. Program your robot's sounds, lights, screen images and movements.
LEGO® Robotics & Coding Ages 8-12
Build a selection of robots. With tablets, program sensor-driven robots to line-follow, navigate mazes and perform daily challenges.
LEGO® Engineering Ages 6-7 OR Ages 8-12
Learn Technic building skills, engineering principles and design methods. Hands-on projects bring machines to life using motors and gears.
LEGO® Electronics Ages 6-7 OR Ages 8-12
LEGO engineering with a focus on electronics! Learn about electronics concepts, components and systems. Work with electrical components and modules to create circuits that will power your LEGO projects.
Both Orange STEM and OSCA have extensive safety measures in place. Campers work individually and socially distanced in small numbers and in a large space. Each camper has an individual clean surface for building. Individual clean LEGO pieces and technology are provided to each camper, and no equipment is shared. Tablets and instructions are sealed in plastic. Kits are numbered and tracked. All LEGO and equipment are fully cleaned and disinfected before use by another person. Masks are required for campers and instructors.
